At the end of February, we went to Dubai and Oman to look for another international job for Marian. Dubai is an unbelievable city. It's modern, beautiful and huge. For every Arab there are about twelve foreigners in Dubai. The main industry is tourism. They're still building new cities around Dubai city, with hundreds of skyscrapers in each one. There are pictures here of some of the shopping malls (Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates).
Below is a picture of the huge aquarium in Dubai Mall. If you like shopping and living in opulence and beauty, this is the place to be.
We also visited a school in Sohar, Oman. Marian signed a contract there for the next two years. Everything looks better there than in Yemen: salary and benefits, safety, cleanliness, traffic. We'll blog some more about Oman in future posts, once we get there.
