Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania. Amboseli Park is on the Kenyan side. The mountain is the largest free standing mountain in the world. It definitely has presence. It seems to be surrounded by clouds most of the time. Once in a while the cloud cover opens up and the mountain shows its majesty. We could also see it from the main hall of the lodge. The park itself has marshy areas with lots of bird species. There are also plenty of elephants. The last 2 years this area was hit by a tremendous drought. Dead animals were all over the park. The skull on the picture above is from an elephant. This year there was a lot of rain which made everything come alive and look green.
