Kenya safari

The explorers... kissing and feeding giraffes...

The hippos are some of the most dangerous animals in the world, they are extremely aggressive. We found this out when floating by in our little boat. The male hippo was with a pregnant female. We came too close in his opinion. Suddenly, he launched at us. We were amazed at how fast this big animal could move and swim. We barely escaped, he came very close to the boat. The boatman had been alert and got us out quickly. His comment: "Well, they don't eat you, they just knock over the boat and kill you...".

The gazelles, impalas, zebras and others are really pretty. The warthogs (wild pigs) just march through the landscape.

Lion viewing. One time 3 lionessses showed up close, they walked by a little group of vans, followed by 12 lion cubs.

There are some very lazy lions here. Below: an old lion was digging something up.

Wildebeest.

Rhinos are very impressive. They left us alone though.

We visited a chimpansee sanctuary. Close up of chimp.
We saw many elephants.

Waterbuffalo.
