Dec 9 was Yemen Day at Sana'a International School. Everyone came to school in traditional Yemeni clothes, there was music, dancing and sales of crafts and local wares. On the picture on the left, above, is Marian with some of her students. She is showing off her hand that was just painted with some henna symbols. In the middle above is one of the arab teachers. Top left is Marian in normal Yemeni attire for women, only eyes visible, this is how 90+% of Yemeni women are dressed all the time, day in day out, hot or very hot. On the left here is Marian again with another teacher and his wife. Notice the big knife he wears in his belt, right in the middle of his belly. Most Yemeni men wear knifes like that all the time. You see some more of them on the other pictures, even children wear them. For example the boy below on the left, and the little boys below.

Then to the left and below are students and parents in normal Yemeni clothes.

To the left here and below are some more festive Yemeni clothes. There are students and dance and music performers.

The guy on the left, is a Yemeni man singing rap music. His songs were in English. Some of the songs were a plea for unification of his country. Real rap, very good.
