Hungary has some beautiful forests and nice smaller cities. There is wine country (no pictures, forgot camera) with some excellent wines and great wine caves. It has a long history of invaders (Mongols, Turkey, Austria, Russia...). The picture on the top left is from the inside court of a castle in the town of Eger where the Turkish army was stopped in 1552. The Turks outnumbered the Hungarians by 80,000 to 1935. More than 8000 Turks got killed and only 200 Hungarians.
We stayed for a week in Miskolc, the weather was foggy and cold the first couple of days.The little town of Lillafured was beautiful. A nice castle, now a hotel, surrounded by a colorful village.
