The Yemeni country side is very dry and rocky. It is really unbelievable how people can survive there. But thousands of years they've done it and still do. You see people with herds of goats or cows. There are terraces where they optimize the use of the little water they have. Rocks have been cleared and made into walls or houses. Asphalt roads have been built only very recently.
