Christmas in Beirut

Beirut is a very busy city, lots of traffic, construction, different religions, churches, mosques, shops, restaurants, cafés, and also security and military checkpoints. Parts of the city are beautiful and new looking, other parts are older and some buildings still show damage from past conflicts.

Christmas is definitely being celebrated with a population of approximately 50% Christians. Churches and mosques are sitting side by side.
The area in front of this mosque and in the center of the city is an archeological site.

We went to a concert with a children's choir in a nice Greek Orthodox church.

These buildings still show damages. The one on the right had Christmas trees in every window.
