Fall break fell early here because of Ramadan being early. We took off to Socotra, an island that's part of Yemen. It's situated in the Arabian Sea, across from Somalia and Djibouti, South East of Yemen.
Here's some pictures of Hadiboh, the capital of Yemen. Marian is standing in main street, wondering where everybody is, or is she looking for the mall? Then there's a couple of pictures of the shopping street. Well, we knew we were going to be a little early in the season, but there was not a whole lot of movement.
What are the picture about? Are these building sites? Where did you stay? Marian looking for the mall or wondering where everyone is - that is funny. Even her pose looks appropriate for that. Very interesting to see where you are. Please keep sending pics.

Not building sites, these are the houses they live in, built with rocks piled on top of each other and held together somehow. Amazingly, when you look inside them, they do have tv's!
ReplyDeleteThe one with the iron gates are all little stores. We stayed in a hotel. Decent, in a way, a bed and a shower. No one came in and cleaned the whole week. We did get sheets and towels twice, just handed to us.
